Former Justice Minister MK Gideon Sa'ar today (Wednesday) strongly criticized Justice Minister Yariv Levin for not reprimanding Likud Minister Dudi Amsalem over his statement that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara is the "most dangerous person in Israel."

Sa'ar told Levin that he was failing to perform his duty as Justice Minister, saying: "You are not dealing with the most serious problems of the system."

He lambasted Levin for accusing opposition figures and protest leaders of violating democratic norms while tolerating Amsalem's comments. "A few hours ago, a minister of the Ministry of Justice, Dudi Amsalem, stood here on this podium and incited for the murder of the attorney general. Because there is no other way to address this disturbing incitement speech: Minister Amsalem incited the murder of the attorney general when he said, 'She harms the security of the state, she is the most dangerous person in Israel.'"

"You are the Justice Minister. You are complicit. You are deaf to this. It is your duty as Justice Minister to protect [Baharav-Miara] from such incitement, but instead to preach morality to others," he concluded.

Earlier, Minister Amsalem said: "Damage to security is a real threat right now to the stability of the democratic State of Israel. She is the most dangerous person today in the State of Israel - until we move her from there, and we needed to move her yesterday already."

Amsalem accused Baharab-Miara of allowing anti-government protestors to block trains, as happened yesterday, and to refuse to report for reserve duty in the IDF.

"Until we move her from there, and we should have moved her yesterday, this damage to security will continue. This lady, in my opinion, today harming the stability of the democratic state of Israel," he said.
