מחאת קפלן: עימותים בין נהגים ומפגינים בכביש 4מחאת קפלן

Anti-government protesters on Monday morning attempted to block Route 4 northbound, near the Givat Shmuel Interchange.

As part of the demonstration, the protesters set up barricades, to which they handcuffed themselves.

"A moment before the criminal government brings down the supporting pillars of a free Israel, we have come out to defend democracy with our bodies. This is the time to wake up anyone who understands the seriousness of the situation but who has not yet come out to the streets. This is the last moment to keep Israel democratic and free," the protesters claimed.

"The ones who have not remained indifferent to the protest are the drivers, who were on the road at the time. Several people got off of a bus which was trapped behind the barricades and began clashing with the protesters, while moving the barricades and clarifying that there are vehicles which have in them patients who need to receive medical treatment."

Police called to the scene dealt with the incident and a short time later the road was reopened. One protester was arrested for disruption of order at the scene and taken for questioning.
