A confrontation took place in the Knesset Constitution Committee Sunday morning between MK Gilad Kariv (Labor party) and committee chairman MK Simcha Rothman (Religious Zionism party).

Karib claimed that the coalition is dishonors the memory of those murdered in the synagogue massacre in the Neve Ya'akov neighborhood of Jerusalem on Shabbat through the very existence of the debate on judicial reform.

"Every time you open a meeting with a quote from Isaiah's prophecy 'Zion shall be redeemed with judgment,' to describe the destructive course you are leading, we will come and say that the only verse from that prophecy for what is happening here is 'we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah'. This is the essence of the process you are leading. If this day was truly sacrosanct in your eyes, we would not have gathered for a meeting and the chairman would have canceled the meeting as I suggested to him," Kariv said to Rothman.

Rothman responded "Hell will freeze over before I accept moral preaching from you about what you are doing on this day. Whoever demonstrated yesterday with terrorist murderers' flags after the attack should not preach to us."
