President Isaac Herzog met with Otzma Yehudit chairman MK Itamar Ben-Gvir on Wednesday morning.

During the meeting, the president expressed deep worry and presented the voices of the groups in the nation and the Jewish world that are worried about the new government.

Herzog called on Ben-Gvir to "help subside the tempers, to be attentive, and to internalize the criticism on the [amendment to] the discrimination clause, and treatment of different groups in society, especially those regarding the LGBT community and the Arab population."

The president emphasized to the MK that "His job and the job of everyone in the future coalition is to work for the nation and in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence."

MK Ben-Gvir told the president his top priority is "the service of the entire nation, to serve as National Security Minister for the whole Israel society and to strengthen the feeling of security on everyone's streets."

He said that in recent days he spoke with his friends in Religious Zionism, and they do not intend on excluding or harming any community,

He added that he is "Attentive to the voices of all parts of the nation and stated that the new government will work on a wide national policy for all parts of Israeli society."
