Iran claims authorities arrested five people suspected of spying for Israel, Kan 11 correspondent Amichai Stein reported.
According to ILNA, Iran's Faraja Intelligence Organization announced the arrest of the leader and members of a spy network affiliated with he Israeli government.
Quoting police, ILNA said, "A spy network affiliated with the fake Israeli regime was identified and arrested by the intelligence elites of the unknown soldiers of Imam Zaman (AS) in Faraja Intelligence Organization."
"The members of this espionage network have contacted the head of the Mossad spy organization at the persuasion of the leader of one of the separatist groups who has a history of mercenary for the Zionist regime."
The announcement also claimed that the five-member cell was made numerous promises by the Mossad agent, who had asked them "to gather information from important and vital areas of the country."
"In addition to gathering information, the members of this network started arson, wrote slogans and propagated against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and had received the necessary training for armed operations and sabotage."
The members of the cell were arrested before any action could be taken, and authorities confiscated "a number of advanced equipment, SIM cards and mobile phones have been discovered from the members of this network," ILNA added.
Last week, Iran claimed it caught another network of spies acting on behalf of Israel.
