A 22-year-old Israeli touring Colombia with his friends died in Bogotá, Colombia, as a result of an allergic reaction.
The Israeli suffered a severe allergy to lactose, and was exposed in a Bogotá restaurant to dairy products.
Following the incident, he was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition, but medical teams there did not succeed in stabilizing his condition, and he died a few days later.
Over the past few days, the Israeli Embassy in Bogotá has been working closely with the family and the young man's friends.
On Tuesday morning, the family was informed of his death and that efforts are being made to bring the body to Israel as quickly as possible.
