
An IDF soldier was seriously injured last night in a car accident near the town of Maon in the area of the Judea Regional Brigade, the IDF spokesperson said.
The soldier is being treated at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva. His family has been notified of the incident.
The soldier was participating in routine military activity, and there is no suspicion that the accident occurred as part of a security incident.
MDA paramedic Eyal Mor Yosef said: "We saw a 20 year old man lying on the road next to a car with a shattered windshield, he was unconscious, we were told he was injured while crossing the road, he suffered a multi-systemic injury, we gave him life-saving medical treatment and we urgently evacuated him to the hospital while he was anesthetized and on assisted breathing and his condition is serious."
