National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben Gvir has filed a NIS 100,000 defamation lawsuit against MK Gadi Eisenkot and his party.
The lawsuit was filed through attorney Ze’ev Wolf following remarks made by Eisenkot on Kan 11’s How to Do Things podcast.
During the broadcast, Eisenkot attributed to Minister Ben Gvir the dissemination of violent TikTok content aimed at young audiences, claiming that it included statements such as “the only way is to kill" and “a good Arab is a dead Arab," as well as encouragement of bullying and the use of force.
Immediately after describing this content, Eisenkot added, “And when I look at the phenomenon called Itamar Ben Gvir."
In his complaint and lawsuit, Minister Ben Gvir stressed that these allegations are a complete lie. According to him, he has never disseminated, published or promoted videos containing calls to kill or the statement, “A good Arab is a dead Arab."
In light of the remarks, Ben Gvir turned to the courts, asking that Eisenkot and his Yashar! party be ordered to pay NIS 100,000 in compensation without the need to prove damages.
In addition, the minister is asking the court to order the removal of the segment in question from all channels and platforms owned by the party, as well as the publication of a clarification and an explicit correction of the statements.
