Four soldiers who were not present during the APC incident at the center of a recent controversy were summoned for a meeting with the battalion commander, information obtained by Arutz Sheva - Israel National News revealed.
During the meeting the soldiers were asked for their views on the incident, and after expressing positions that did not align with those of the battalion commander, a decision was made to subject them to disciplinary proceedings and sentence them to confinement to base.
Sources in the battalion claim that the move is unprecedented which has further deepened the sense of crisis and division between some of the soldiers and the command.
"They did not take part in the incident, did not violate an order, and did not refuse to carry out a mission," one source said. "The feeling is that they were punished simply because they expressed their opinion."
The IDF Spokesperson declined to comment.
