Vandals, suspected to be Jewish, torched a mosque on Monday night in the village of Bazariya in Samaria and left graffiti at the site.
Among the messages that were left, the rioters wrote: "Evictions=Balagan (chaos). Be warned."
Another message contained a threat against Israeli military correspondent Roy Sharon, who published posts on social media condemning Hilltop Youth. "Roy Sharon, look out for your car," was spray-painted on one of the walls.
Another message, addressing US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, read: "Regards from the terrorists," referring to Huckabee's remarks about Jewish rioters in Judea and Samaria.
Kan News responded: “We strongly condemn the threats spray-painted in recent hours on the wall of a mosque in Samaria against Kan News correspondent Roy Sharon. Attempts to intimidate a journalist because of his work will not succeed and will not deter Roy or the Kan News team from continuing to provide reliable and professional coverage, including of riots in Judea and Samaria. We expect law enforcement authorities to act swiftly and decisively to locate those responsible and bring them to justice. Our journalistic work will continue without fear."
Several hours after the incident, police announced that they arrested eight suspects in Judea overnight as part of an investigation by the inter-organizational headquarters of the Judea and Samaria District.
The police stated that the arrestees were suspected of several serious arson and assault incidents that occurred in the southern Hebron Hills.
In addition to the arrests, police seized three vehicles suspected of being used to commit the crimes.
The suspects are residents of Judea and Samaria and central Israel, between the ages of 16 and 20. They were taken for interrogation, after which the police intend to bring them before a court and request the extension of their detentions.
