Israel Police are preparing for the rainy weather expected from Saturday night through Sunday and are warning of heavy local rainfall and flooding.
According to a police statement, rain is expected mainly in northern Israel, along the coast, and in the coastal plain. There may be local flooding, particularly near the coastline.
Police officers will be deployed in relevant areas and along major roads to assist motorists and maintain public safety. Israel Police said updates regarding road closures and traffic disruptions caused by the weather will be issued as conditions develop.
Forecaster Lior Sudri predicts that Friday will be partly cloudy to clear, with a slight drop in temperatures, particularly inland and in the mountains. However, temperatures will remain slightly above average, and it will be humid along the coastline.
Saturday is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with possible local rainfall in the northern mountains during the afternoon. Rain is expected to begin Saturday night in northern and central Israel, with possible thunderstorms and a risk of flooding in coastal cities.
Sunday will be partly cloudy, with local rainfall still expected during the morning and afternoon. There is a risk of flash floods in eastern Israel, along with a further drop in temperatures, which will be slightly below average, particularly in the mountains.
Police are urging the public to avoid areas where hazardous weather conditions are expected and to follow the forecasts. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel and hiking in streams and flood-prone areas, and to consult the relevant authorities for updated information before setting out on hikes.
Police also stressed that motorists must not attempt to cross flooded roads, waterways, puddles, or flooded pits, and warned the public not to approach them. Such areas pose risks of falling, being swept away, and drowning.

Monday will see a slight rise in temperatures, reaching nearly seasonal averages, with partly cloudy skies.
Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy to clear, with temperatures typical for the season.
