IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the Palmachim Air Force base on Sunday, together with Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tischler and other commanders.
During the visit, Zamir held a situational assessment on the Air Force’s readiness for a range of scenarios, both defensive and offensive.
Zamir also spoke with members of the special forces and expressed his appreciation for their work and operational contributions across all fronts. “In recent years, you have brought new capabilities to the battlefield," he told the troops.
“The operations you have carried out are unprecedented and require courage, imagination and exceptional execution capabilities, and we will not be able to speak publicly about most of them," Zamir said. “In the multi-front campaign we are engaged in, the wing has operated farther than ever before, with unique and groundbreaking capabilities, and for longer periods than ever before."
The IDF chief added: “These are activities that will be written into the pages of IDF history and have strategic significance. We remain vigilant and ready on all fronts, both defensively and offensively."
Zamir also addressed reservists: “I want to express my deep appreciation to the reservists. You are a central part of our ability to wage a multi-front war and confront the various challenges. I salute you on behalf of the entire people of Israel."
