A woman in her 40s who was 34 weeks pregnant died at Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva following a rare complication which caused her condition to deteriorate.
Her unborn baby was also delivered lifeless.
The woman arrived at the hospital suffering from abdominal pain. According to Soroka, after her condition deteriorated, she was rushed to the operating room, where the baby was stillborn.
Following the operation, the woman was transferred in serious condition to the intensive care unit. Despite treatment, she died the following day.
Soroka Medical Center said the case had been reported to the Health Ministry. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
