Singer-songwriter Idan Amedi closed out the 50th "Hutzot Hayotzer" festival at Jerusalem’s Sultan’s Pool on Thursday evening, taking a poignant moment during the show to pay tribute to Simcha and Leah Goldin, parents of the late IDF soldier Hadar Goldin.
Nearing the end of the concert, Amedi dedicated his hit song "Nigmar" ("It's Over") to the couple, visibly fighting back tears as he performed.
Prior to singing, Amedi noted to the audience that this marked the first time in over a decade that a festival tour concluded without images of hostages displayed on the screens.
He then turned the audience's attention to Simcha and Leah Goldin sitting in the crowd, introducing them as guests who hold a deeply special place in his heart.
Amedi shared that a close personal bond had developed between him and the Goldins over the years. He reflected that despite never meeting their son Hadar, his connection with the parents had grown into a profound friendship, and expressed his gratitude to them for attending the show and for everything they have done for the nation.
Before launching into the song, Amedi shared that throughout his years of meeting with Simcha and Leah, the song had symbolized their shared hope that the darkest times would eventually draw to a close. Expressing his deep gratitude, he told them: "Thank you for everything you have done for the people of Israel. I love you."
