Former Fire and Rescue Commissioner and bereaved father Dedi Simhi is considering ending his political partnership with Benny Gantz and the Blue and White party, weighing a potential jump to Likud if offered a reserved spot on its electoral slate.

Simhi's deliberation comes amid Blue and White's lackluster performance in the polls and its failure to forge joint runs with other factions. He delivered a clear message to Gantz, making it plain that he is fully committed to entering politics - even if that means doing so outside Gantz's party framework.

This development unfolds just weeks after Simhi addressed their potential joint run in an interview with Kan 11 News, stating, "When everything is finalized, we will announce it publicly in a formal statement."

During that interview, he emphasized that his goal was to unite forces in the political center: "We will bring more people on board, some of whom are already in advanced talks. Yoaz Hendel is also with us, though it isn't finalized yet. I truly believe we are building Israel's central block here, and we're going to dismantle this foolish paradigm of 'Block A versus Block B.'"
