Following hours of intensive firefighting efforts, firefighters achieved full control early Sunday morning over a fire that broke out in the underground parking garage of the future BIG commercial center construction site in Petah Tikva.
The blaze originated in a section where plastic materials and piping were stored, triggering reports of heavy smoke filling the area.
Fire and Rescue Services reported that all seats of the fire across the roughly 2,000-square-meter underground space have been completely extinguished. Following the incident, Central District Fire Commander, Fire Commissioner Roni Kedem, ordered the establishment of a special task force to investigate the cause of the fire.
