MK Yoav Segalovitz announced on Thursday his resignation from the Knesset and his departure from the Yesh Atid party, which he has represented in the Knesset since 2019.
His announcement comes amid reports over the past week indicating he is considering joining Mansour Abbas's Ra'am party and running on its slate in the upcoming elections.
"Today I submitted my resignation from the Knesset, where I have served on behalf of Yesh Atid since 2019," Segalovitz said. "Over the years, I had the privilege to impact issues close to my heart, both as a member of Knesset and as Deputy Minister of Public Security."
Segalovitz thanked Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid and his party colleagues: "I want to express my gratitude to Yair Lapid, my fellow MKs, and the party activists for their partnership, trust, and shared dedication to the State of Israel."
He added, "I wish great success to Yesh Atid and the Together party as they continue to work resolutely on behalf of Israeli citizens."
Reports over the past week revealed that Segalovitz is weighing a move to Mansour Abbas's Ra'am party for the upcoming Knesset race. Internal polling conducted for the faction indicates that Segalovitz commands high trust among the Arab public, prompting the party to explore adding him to its electoral slate.
Abbas has recently been pushing to bring Segalovitz on board, believing that incorporating a prominent Jewish figure into the party's lineup could help shield it against right-wing political attacks.
In parallel, Abbas is considering rebranding Ra'am with a new official name that would resonate more broadly with Jewish voters.
