Sarah Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Yechiel Ohev Ami, who previously served as an operations assistant at the Prime Minister's Residence.
The lawsuit was filed about a week after Ohev Ami sued her, claiming that he had been subjected to workplace abuse during his employment.
According to the statement of claim, filed through attorney Uriel Hor Nizri, Ohev Ami began illegally photographing inside the Prime Minister's Residence from his very first days on the job, in violation of the confidentiality agreement he had signed.
The lawsuit further alleges that he carried out a "blatant intrusion into Netanyahu's private and intimate sphere of life," took photographs inside a secure government facility, collected information, and used it for the purposes of "harassment and extortion."
It also claims that after he was dismissed and his request to return to work was rejected, Ohev Ami embarked on a "campaign of revenge," which, according to the lawsuit, had been planned in advance and carried out in cooperation with a Channel 12 News journalist.
The lawsuit further argues that all of Ohev Ami's allegations against Sarah Netanyahu are "absolute and malicious lies," describing them as "a web of lies and fabrications" allegedly intended to create "media and financial extortion."
In contrast, in the lawsuit he filed last week, Ohev Ami claimed that he carried out his duties with dedication and professionalism, but throughout his employment was subjected to severe workplace abuse by Sarah Netanyahu, which he says was backed by his supervisors. He also alleged that he was dismissed without any legitimate cause after he had "fallen out of favor" with the Prime Minister's wife.
