A reserve soldier serving in the Samaria Regional Brigade was dismissed from service after documenting a Palestinian Arab detainee who was bound and blindfolded, holding a sign advertising the soldier’s jewelry business.

The image was posted on the business’s Instagram page, alongside a holiday greeting.

The photo quickly spread across social media and reached a wide international audience. It was used by pro-Palestinian and antisemitic actors, who presented it as representative of IDF activity in Judea and Samaria.

Additionally, the reservist’s personal details were circulated online by accounts identifying as pro-Palestinian, alongside calls for his dismissal from service. At the same time, there were also responses calling to support the Israeli business.

The IDF stated that once the incident became known to commanders, instructions were given to address the matter and the soldier was immediately suspended from service. An IDF Spokesperson statement said that “the IDF views the incident with great severity."
