
On Saturday, precipitation fell across a wide swath of Israel, stretching from Mount Hermon to the Ashkelon region and the Dead Sea.
Dr. Amir Givati, Director of the Israel Meteorological Service, reported that the highest rainfall amounts so far were recorded in the Upper and Western Galilee: 45 mm in Carmiel, 37 mm in Mitzpe Harashim, and 36 mm in Akko (Acre). In many areas of the Galilee and the Golan Heights, about 20-30 mm of rain fell, with 23 mm in Haifa and 22 mm in Metula.
In central Israel, the strongest rainfall intensities were measured along the southern coast. In the community of Nitzan near Ashdod, 14 mm fell within a single hour, and about 30 mm accumulated over the past 24 hours. In central Israel overall, approximately 15-20 mm has fallen so far.
On Saturday night, intermittent rain is expected from northern Israel to the northern Negev, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. Snow will fall on Mount Hermon. Strong winds will blow. There is a risk of flooding along the southern coastal plain, as well as in the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea region.
On Sunday, rainfall will continue intermittently from northern Israel to the northern Negev. During the morning hours, there may be isolated thunderstorms, as well as flooding in the eastern streams. Strong winds will blow. During the afternoon hours, rainfall will gradually lighten and decrease, and temperatures will be colder than usual for the season. During the night, rainfall will intensify again.
Monday will see intermittent rainfall in northern and central Israel, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, with local rains expected in the northern Negev. Strong westerly winds will blow. There is a risk of flooding mainly in the lowlands and central mountain regions, as well the eastern streams. Snow will fall on Mount Hermon.
On Tuesday, skies will be partly cloudy, and there may be light local rainfall in northern and central Israel. Temperatures will drop slightly.
Wednesday will be partly cloudy. Local rain will fall in northern Israel, and strong winds will blow along the coastal plain. In central and southern Israel, temperatures will rise slightly.
