The IDF on Wednesday morning identified a missile launched from Yemen, following which sirens sounded throughout central Israel.
Multiple explosions were heard following the sirens.
"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted," the IDF later reported. "Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol."
There have been no reports of injuries.
Airspace at Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily closed, forcing a Delta flight from New York to circle until the airspace was reopened.
Early on Tuesday morning, the Houthis launched two missiles toward Israel, which exploded in Saudi territory.
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated: “The remaining Houthi leadership is fleeing Sana’a. Like all leaders of extremist Islamic terror, they look out for themselves and abandon their people. The same is true for Hamas leaders in Gaza and in luxury hotels in Qatar, and for the Houthis in Yemen. We managed to track them this time, and we will do so in the future as well.”
