Arutz Sheva - Israel National News accompanied 225 new immigrants from North America who landed at Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday morning aboard Nefesh B’Nefesh’s 65th charter aliyah flight.
The specially-chartered EL AL flight, organized in cooperation with Israel’s Ministry of Immigration and Integration, The Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, and Jewish National Fund-USA, is the first charter flight to arrive since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War and comes amid a historic rise in immigration.
More than 1,000 new immigrants are expected to arrive in Israel throughout August — the highest monthly number in over two decades.
The excited new immigrants told Arutz Sheva they were thrilled to be turning a new page in their lives in the land of Israel.
They emphasized that the ongoing war did not discourage them from coming; rather, recent events strengthened their Jewish identity and deepened their desire to connect with the people of Israel by making aliyah.
