Over the weekend, police officers from the Northern District were called to dozens of incidents connected to the inclement weather and those harmed by it. Among the incidents they handled were roads blocked due to flooding, walls and roads collapsing, trapped vehicles, and extracting civilians from elevators and open areas.
In one of these incidents, which took place at around 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning, police received a report of three youths who found themselves trapped at Mitzpe Hahalalit near the town of Yavne'el.
The youths had planned to sleep at the site in tents, but due to the inclement weather, they had become completely soaked and were suffering from the cold but unable to leave the area due to the roads, which had become too muddy to be passable.
Police officers from the Northern District were called to the scene and were able to rescue the youths. They arrived in a 4x4 vehicle, and immediately offered the young men warm, dry clothes and transferred them to medical treatment.
All three are reported to be doing well.
