The terrorist shooting attack in which seven people were murdered in Jaffa last Tuesday was committed due to a gap in the Seam Zone, the narrow area between the 1949 Armistice line and the Judea and Samaria security barrier, Galai Tzahal (IDF Radio) correspondent Doron Kadosh reported.

The gap is located near the outskirts of Jerusalem and was used by the terrorists who committed the attack in Jaffa to enter Israel for their murderous mission.

According to the report, the situation along the Seam Zone has deteriorated to what it was during the terror wave of 2022-2023, where hundreds of Palestinian Authority residents were able to cross into Israel every day through gaps in the security barrier without any control, monitoring or supervision from the Israeli side.

At one location near Jerusalem, about 1,100 PA residents attempted to enter Israel illegally, of whom only about 190 were caught.

The security establishment warned after the attack that they were powerless in the face of the illegal infiltration phenomenon under the current situation and demanded that the political echelon take the issue more seriously and issue clearer directives on the bringing of laborers from the PA into Israel.

This morning, the name of the seventh victim of Tuesday's attack was cleared for publication. The victim was named as 33-year-old Victor Shimshon Green.
