Kibbutz Be'eri on Saturday morning announced the murder in captivity of Sahar Baruch, age 25.
Baruch was kidnapped to Gaza alive by Hamas terrorists on October 7.
Sahar's brother, Idan Baruch, was murdered in Kibbutz Be'eri when the two attempted to escape through the window of their home. Their grandmother, Geula Becher, was also murdered on the morning of October 7.
Sahar is survived by his parents, Tami and Roni Baruch, and his brothers Guy and Niv. About a month before the massacre, Sahar returned from a trip to South America, and shortly afterwards was scheduled to begin studying electric engineering at Ben Gurion University.
His aunt, Meirav Barkai, said that on the morning of October 7, Sahar and Idan were at their mother's home in Be'eri, and entered the home's bomb shelter when the sirens sounded and the fire began.
"But they did not manage to close the door, so they used the closet. The terrorists hurled three grenades into the bomb shelter. Idan was hit and Sahar treated him," she said. "When the house began to burn and the flames grew higher, they decided to jump out. Idan jumped out first, and apparently he was shot right near there and murdered. Sahar remained after him."
The Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum headquarters said, "We will demand the return of his body as part of any deal to return the hostages. We will not stop until everyone is home."
On Friday, Hamas published a video clip which showed Baruch speaking, and afterwards showed his body covered in blood. The terror group claimed, as part of their psychological terror, that Baruch was "killed" during the IDF's attempt to rescue hostages.
No hostages were found in the location which the IDF raided.
