A new police investigation shows that at least 364 people were murdered at the music festival in Kibbutz Re'im - far higher than the initial estimate of 250.
The investigation, published on Ulpan Shishi, revealed that the massacre at the music festival accounted for approximately one-third of the people murdered on the morning of Oct. 7.
Of these, 17 were police officers.
Following the investigation, it became clear that the music festival was not one of the terrorists' destinations when they breached the border. This was concluded after Israel interrogated terrorists who were caught alive and and after Israel found maps of the Gaza border area on the bodies of terrorists who had been eliminated.
The findings show that no terrorist knew ahad of time about the party, but the moment the evacuation began, they identified the stream of people and rushed to the festival grounds.
The investigation also showed that had police forces not been stationed at the Yad Mordechai Junction, the terrorists would have succeeded in reaching Rishon Lezion and Tel Aviv.
Separately, on Saturday night, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari reported that the current number of hostages held in Gaza is 236, and that 378 IDF soldiers have fallen since the start of the war on October 7.
