Staff sergeant Gilad Rozenblit, 21 from Kibbutz Ginegar, fell during an operational activity in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, it has been cleared for publication.

Rozenblit served as a combat medic in the 52nd Battalion, 401st Brigade ("Iron Tracks").

On Thursday night, it was cleared for publication that Oren Goldin, 33, a member of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak near the Gaza border, was murdered during the October 7 Hamas attack, and his body is believed to be held by Hamas.

Goldin, married to Oshrit and father to two-year-old twins, ran the garage in the kibbutz. He grew up in Nir Yitzhak and chose to raise his family there alongside his parents and brothers.

Meanwhile, the IDF early Friday morning struck the organization in Syria that carried out the launch of a UAV toward Eilat on Thursday, which hit a school in the city.

"The IDF holds the Syrian regime fully responsible for every terror activity emanating from its territory. The IDF will respond severely to every aggression against Israeli territory," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified on Thursday, in an interview with Fox News’ Brett Baier, that Israel has not agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza and will not agree to one unless hostages are released.

Asked about the United States and how firm the push has been by President Joe Biden and his administration for the humanitarian pauses, Netanyahu replied, "Well, one thing we haven't agreed to is a ceasefire. A ceasefire with Hamas means surrender to Hamas, surrender to terror and the victory of Iran's axis of terror. So there won't be a ceasefire without the release of Israeli hostages.”

"The fighting continues against the Hamas enemy, the Hamas terrorists, but in specific locations for a given period, a few hours here, a few hours there, we want to facilitate a safe passage of civilians away from the zone of fighting. And we're doing that," he explained.
