
Sergeant Eliahou Benjamin Elmakayes, 29, from Jerusalem, fell in battle in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday, it has been cleared for publication.
Elmakayes is the 35th fallen soldier since the beginning of the ground incursion.
In addition, five soldiers were seriously injured in the fighting in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
The IDF cleared for publication on Wednesday that Staff Sergeant Noam Yosef Abu, aged 20 from Dimona, a soldier in the Nahal Brigade, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that Sergeant Major Yonatan Hatzor, age 22 from Katzir, and Sergeant Major (res.) Yaacov Ozeri, 28, from Kfar Shamai, fell in battle in northern Gaza, the IDF announced. Hatzor fought in the IDF's Shaldag unit, and Ozeri fought in the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade.
Meanwhile, the bodies of 1,194 people who were murdered in the Hamas massacre on October 7 and who fell in the ensuing fighting have been identified so far, according to Israel Police data.
The data found that 352 soldiers and members of the security forces fell and the bodies of 843 citizens and residents have been identified so far, including foreign residents.
