Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas presided over an emergency meeting of the PLO Executive Committee that convened in Ramallah (Monday).

In his remarks at the beginning of the meeting, Abbas accused Israel of carrying out "genocide" and "massacres" in the Gaza Strip in plain view of the international community.

Abbas noted that the Palestinian Authority acted from the first moment to bring an end to the Israeli "aggression", however according to him "the Israeli occupation forces responded with a land invasion and an unprecedented increase in the bombings, destruction and killings".

"How can we ignore the killing of more than three thousand Palestinian children? How can we ignore the bombing of hospitals and how can we ignore the savage destruction and collective punishment of civilians?" asked Abu Mazen.

"I demand from the countries of the world to pressure Israel to stop the shedding of Palestinian blood," said Abu Mazen, emphasizing that "we must fight deportation, displacement and the realization of another Nakba."

According to him, Gaza will remain part of the Palestinian state which will include the West Bank and East Jerusalem and "a bone in the throat of the attackers" and the Arab countries must help the Palestinian people remain on their land to bring an end to the occupation of the State of Palestine.
