A video distributed by the IDF spokesman a few days ago about the Air Force's activities in Gaza has gone viral on the Internet and has reached over 10 million views.

In the video, an Air Force pilot fires on a suspicious target. The pilot counts down before the launch: "Two, Three, Sha-ger!" 'Sha-ger' is the Hebrew word for 'launch'.

In response to the sensation, a pilot from the IAF's 166th UAV squadron explained why it is broken into two distinct syllables.

"Based on operational reasons, we decided to break the word into two syllables, so that the order to open fire will be pronounced in a way that is distinct and unambiguous."

"In this war, and in general, we take part in operations with other branches of the air force and ground forces. We work together with full cooperation, seeking and attacking targets at need, as well as gathering intelligence."

"We are the eyes in the sky for the soldiers in the field, and this is how we help protect the safety and lives of the soldiers of the IDF."

The pilot also commented on the thousands of videos that have been made using 'Sha-Ger' as a comedic catchphrase: 'I'm glad we could give you something to smile about as well."
