The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office recently submitted to the city's district court an indictment against Mahmoud Al-Ragei (35), a resident of Hebron, after he entered the territory of the State of Israel without permission, pretended to be an Israeli citizen and fraudulently equipped himself with a weapon, in order to work as a security guard in a shopping complex in the city of Holon.
The indictment states that Al-Ragei is a resident of Hebron and is not authorized to enter the territories of the State of Israel. "During the month of April 2023, he contacted another person, sent him his photo for the preparation of a fake identity card, and paid him the sum of NIS 500. Subsequently, he was provided with a fake identity card bearing his photo, along with the name and identity number of an Israeli citizen with no criminal record, a resident of Nazareth."
"While in the territories of Israel, Al-Ragei interviewed for a job as a security guard at a shopping complex in Holon at the company A.G. Security Consulting and Services. As part of the company's admissions process, Al-Ragei presented the fake certificate to the interviewer and claimed that he had no criminal record. Al-Ragei was examined by a doctor, to whom he likewise identified himself using the fake certificate and also successfully passed psychological tests, a shooting test, and a security inspector course, all while identifying himself falsely with the fake certificate."
"In the end, he fraudulently received from the state authorities a security guard certificate, a security inspector certification certificate, and a license to carry weapons. Soon after, Al-Ragei received a Jericho-type handgun and two magazines from the company for his job and began working as an armed security guard at the shopping complex in Holon," the indictment reads.
In the request for arrest, Attorney Gatanio stated that "the respondent's actions show great boldness and a lack of fear of the law - the respondent did not cease his actions throughout the long admission process, defrauded the authorities by presenting a fake document and identifying himself as a different person, knowing that did not meet the conditions required to legally carry a weapon."
