
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant was scheduled to depart on Thursday evening for Germany, where he will participate in the Munich Security Conference.
As part of his participation in the conference, Minister Gallant will deliver a speech in which he will address the Iranian threat and its effects on global stability.
In addition, the Minister of Defense will take part in a panel that will deal with the Abraham Accords and with the regional challenges, alongside representatives from Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Germany and Italy.
During the conference, Minister Gallant is expected to meet with dozens of his counterparts from around the world, including the British, German and Greek defense ministers, with whom he will discuss the countries' security challenges and opportunities to strengthen cooperation.
Hundreds of representatives gather every year at the Munich Security Conference, including leaders and ministers of many countries, alongside representatives of research institutes and non-governmental organizations, with the aim of discussing global security challenges and their effects.
The chairwoman of the Labor party MK Merav Michaeli will also fly to Munich where she will participate in the security conference as the only representative of the Israeli opposition.
As part of the conference, the Labor leader will participate in a discussion on democratic resilience, and will hold meetings with leading politicians and representatives from the global Jewish community, in which they will discuss the various current challenges to Israel's security.
