A Jewish man was shot Wednesday morning outside a synagogue in the Pico-Robertson section of Los Angeles.
According to the Forward, the victim was taken to a hospital and released later that day.
As of the time of reporting, the suspect, an Asian male, is still at large. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles police department said the victim was walking to his car when the suspect, driving a vehicle, approached him and fired two shots.
Later Wednesday, another police spokesperson said he couldn’t say whether the department is investigating the incident as a hate crime.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Shenandoah Street and Cashio Avenue in the heavily Orthodox Jewish neighborhood at around 10 AM Pacific Time.
The Anti-Defamation League released a statement condemning the attack.
