MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud) spoke to Israel National News on Thursday and said that the swearing in of the new government is a happy and exciting day, after a year and a half in which "there was a problematic government for the people of Israel and the Land of Israel, and the time has come to install a government. Everyone should be happy today."

Vaturi said he is preparing to focus his activities in the next term mainly on the Knesset committees. "It is an honor to simply be a Knesset member. I am satisfied with the humble seat of being a Knesset member, which is also very important."

While he has not yet been assigned to any committee, he added that in his estimation he will be included in some economic committee.

Vaturi also commented on the bill he signed which would deny scholarships to students who express support for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

"This is a disaster for the State of Israel," he said. "Those who study in the universities of the State of Israel should understand that this is what gives them their right to live here. If they don't want to, let them go study in Jordan or elsewhere."

He also noted the amendment to the flag law that he himself submitted, which stipulates that anyone who flies the PLO flag in universities will be prevented from studying in Israel. "If he denies the existence of the State of Israel, why should he be allowed to sit on Israel's economic pipeline? If you think that the State of Israel should not exist, you have no business being here. Those who don't want to, should go study in Syria."

Vaturi sought to calm those who fear the new government, saying, “Relative to the previous government that trampled on everything Jewish in the Land of Israel, gave the Muslim Brotherhood more than the Jews, the time has come for a normal and balanced government that will give to all communities in the Land of Israel and will not deny Jews basic things such as places to pray. This is what is called equality."
