A Deal, New Jersey man was charged with intimidation and making terrorist threats after allegedly targeting a local synagogue, the Asbury Park Press reported.

Nicholas Skirvin. 44, was arrested for threatening the congregants of Ohel Yaacob Congregation at around 1 p.m. on Friday, the Deal Police Department said.

According to police, Skirvin yelled obscenities and threats at congregants outside the synagogue in Deal, a small borough near Asbury Park.

Police arrested him after interviewing witnesses who said the suspect had made multiple terroristic threats toward congregants.

Deal police were assisted in the investigation by Asbury Park police.
