The Yesha Council is not impressed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz's promise to convene the Supreme Planning Council and approve plans for construction in Judea and Samaria.
"Just as the defense minister is misleading the prime minister and the right-wing ministers in his government, so he did so now live when he said he was working for settlement," the Yesha council said in response to what Ganz told Ynet.
The Yesha Council said that in the past year, Defense Minister Ganz convened the Supreme Planning Council only once, instead of four times a year as was the case under previous governments. Even the few housing units that were supposedly approved at this meeting have not yet been announced.
"Instead of a policy that the government has decided to maintain the status quo and the continuation of construction, the defense minister has decided to implement in practice a private policy that is driven by political motives that want to harm the settlements. The residents of Judea and Samaria are not tools for political bargaining in the hands of the Minister of Defense. We will continue to fight until the freeze is lifted," the Yesha Council promised.
As stated, Defense Minister Benny Gantz this morning (Sunday) referred to the claim that he is delaying the construction of thousands of new housing units in Judea and Samaria and told the Ynet website: "I mean that construction plans will be approved for both Israelis and Palestinians. Examine me according to my deeds."
