The Jewish Agency held a special ceremony on Memorial Day in memory of the hundreds of Jews killed while taking part in pro-Israel activities around the world. “They fell not just to protect the homeland, but to protect and secure Jewish life around the world,” said Rebecca Caspi, director of the Zionist organization UJC Israel.
A torch was lit by the sons of two Jewish men killed while promoting aliyah (immigration to Israel) in Algeria.
