The Democrats party, headed by Yair Golan, is reaching out to Israel's Arab public in an effort to increase voter turnout in the Knesset elections scheduled for October 27.
As part of the campaign, Golan and MK Gilad Kariv published messages translated into Arabic, linking voter turnout to the possibility of replacing the government.
In a video aimed at the Arab public, Golan said, "If you go out to vote on October 27 - Netanyahu will not be Prime Minister. But if you don't go out to vote - he will be Prime Minister."
He continued, "If you don't go out to vote, it's as if you gave your vote to Netanyahu. The power is in your hands."
MK Gilad Kariv delivered a similar message, aimed in part at those who will be voting for the first time in the upcoming election. "Those who don't go out to vote are essentially voting for Ben Gvir. Don't give this fascist racist the prize," he said.
Kariv also outlined the political change he hopes to see following the election. He said that, for him, a happy new year would be one in which The Democrats are part of the government.
Kariv also called for equal sharing of the burden and equality among different segments of society. Among other things, he cited equality between Jews and Arabs, between different streams of Judaism, and in the field of education.
