Firefighters are operating Thursday morning at the Yitzhak Navon train station in Jerusalem, and passengers have been evacuated.
The firefighters arrived following reports of smoke at the train station, and are searching for the source of the smoke.
Shortly afterwards, the Fire and Rescue Service stated: "Firefighters from the Ha'uma district stations have completed their searches at Jerusalem's Yitzhak Navon Train Station. During the searches, no source of smoke was located and nothing unusual was found. The station is returning to routine operations and activity at the site is resuming."
Jerusalem District Commander Shmulik Friedman added, "Train stations are complex and crowded locations where we are required to be prepared for every scenario, from smoke and fire incidents to complex emergency mass casualty scenarios. Israel Fire and Rescue Services regularly conducts drills and training in train station environments in order to ensure a rapid, professional, and coordinated response during a real emergency."
"In this incident as well, firefighters acted quickly and conducted thorough searches until the danger was ruled out. Advance preparation is what allows us to remain ready at all times and protect the public's lives."
