Yamam officers today arrested suspects in connection with the murder of Caucasian mafia boss Yanis Yushbayev, who was shot dead on Sunday in Caesarea.
The arrests were carried out in Hadera following a manhunt and intelligence guidance from the Coastal District Central Unit. The investigation into the murder was assigned to the Coastal District Central Unit following the incident.
Yushbayev was shot to death with a handgun, and following the murder, investigators and detectives from the unit began operations to locate the suspects involved.
Police said that significant intelligence activity by the Coastal District Central Unit led to the identification and location of the suspects. A short time ago, officers from Yamam, the Israel Police’s National Counter-Terrorism Unit, operated in Hadera and arrested the suspects in connection with the murder.
The arrested suspects were transferred to the Coastal District Central Unit for further questioning. At this stage, the investigation is continuing in an effort to identify and apprehend everyone involved in the incident.
Israel Police Commissioner Superintendent-General Dani Levy closely followed the progress of the investigation. Following the arrests, he praised the work of the Yamam officers and Coastal District Central Unit police officers that led to the suspects’ arrests.
Police stressed that the investigation is continuing despite the arrests. “The Israel Police will continue to act resolutely to investigate the case, locate all those involved, and bring them to justice," police said.
