A man approximately 45 years old, a criminal known to police, was shot on Sunday at a gas station near Caesarea and critically wounded. He was evacuated to a hospital, where he died of his wounds. It was later revealed that the victim was Yanis Yushvayev, who was considered the head of the Caucasus Jewish mafia in Israel.
Police opened an investigation and launched searches for the suspects, who fled the scene in a vehicle.
Magen David Adom medics Idan Elmalach and Shoham Asraf, along with MDA motorcycle unit medic Elhanan Kfir, recounted: “We received a report of a person wounded in a violent incident. When we arrived at the scene, we saw a man approximately 45 years old who was unconscious, with no pulse and not breathing, and suffering from significant penetrating injuries to his body.
“While performing advanced resuscitation procedures and providing initial treatment for his injuries, we evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition," they added.
