Three separate incidents in which Israelis entered Area A occurred early Monday morning, according to the Civil Administration and the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
In the first incident, an armed Israeli entered the Palestinian Arab village of Ein Arik, west of Ramallah. Palestinian Authority security forces detained him and transferred him to the Civil Administration for further handling. Local Palestinian Arabs filmed him during the incident.
Security officials said the man was a reserve soldier who entered the area while not wearing his uniform.
In another incident, a Jewish woman was spotted walking around the city of Jericho. Officers from the Jordan Valley District Coordination and Liaison Administration worked to evacuate her. An initial inquiry indicated that she had entered the Palestinian Arab city deliberately.
At the same time, an Israeli described as being in an unstable mental state was spotted walking through the streets of Bethlehem. Local residents reported the information to the security authorities, and he was subsequently handed over to security forces.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said all three cases were referred to the Judea and Samaria District Police for further handling. The Civil Administration stressed, “Entering Area A is life-threatening and prohibited by law."
Last month, Civil Administration forces rescued a female IDF soldier serving in the regular army and two other Jewish women from the center of Jericho.
A similar incident occurred last month near the village of Mukhmas in the Binyamin Brigade area, when nine Breslov Hasidim were rescued after reports that they had been attacked inside the village.
The initial report raised concerns of a security incident and even a possible abduction, but those suspicions were later ruled out.
