בן גביר בסיור ביישוב הבדואי: תושב אמר "אני בעל הבית" - השר השיב: "אולי נעל בית"

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir toured the Israeli Bedouin town of Basmat Tab'un in northern Israel on Wednesday together with police forces. During the visit, he spoke with residents and watched the police in the town in action.

During the visit, a verbal confrontation broke out between Ben-Gvir and one of the residents, who made no secret of his dissatisfaction with the visit. Video from the incident shows the resident taunting Ben-Gvir, saying "I'm the boss (ba'al habayit) here." Ben-Gvir, who often says the same thing when visiting non-Jewish villages and neighborhoods in Israel, replied with a Hebrew play on words, "You're not the boss. Maybe you're a slipper (na'al bayit); that's about it."

The Minister then continued to mock the residents: "You guys, when you get arrested, you cry: 'Ya Mama, ya Baba (Mommy, Daddy)."

Following the brief exchange of barbs, the Minister continued the tour accompanied by the police forces and residents.

Another scene from the visit showed a warmer exchange when a local truck driver showed him a chapter from Psalms on the side of his truck and said that two of his children serve in the security forces. Ben-Gvir responded: "I love people like you. You should know that the entire reality would be different if everyone were like you."
