An indictment was submitted on Monday against a resident of the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat who goes by the nickname "Tarzan," for impersonation and threats to murder National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Tzvi Sukkot. The investigation found that the suspect used the identity of a personal rival to send the threats.
According to the investigation's findings, in July, the suspect created a Facebook account using the photo and details of his rival. Using the false identity, the suspect sent threatening messages to various individuals, including Ben-Gvir and Sukkot.
Among other things, the suspect sent a photo of a pistol, magazine, and ammunition to the coordinator of the Shuafat "Refugee" Camp, along with the threat: "I have a pistol at home, and I shoot it every day in the open."
In another message, he wrote: "Tzvi Sukkot and Ben-Gvir, you are such a terrorist settler... The time has come for you to go to hell, you dog..." Other messages included photos of weapons and bullets along with additional threats.
In one message, the suspect wrote: "I always have a gun, I go around without being inspected by security, I will kill you when I see you." After the recipients reported the messages, police opened an undercover investigation.
The investigation uncovered the true identity of the suspect behind the account and messages and led to his arrest and indictment.
