Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday morning warned that Israel will collapse Iran's national infrastructure if the IRGC's attacks continue.
Sunday morning's situational assessment was held at the IDF headquarters and attended by Defense Ministry Director-General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai, Head of the Operations Directorate Maj. Gen. Itzik Cohen, Head of the Planning Directorate Maj. Gen. Hidai Zilberman, Brig. Gen. Omer Tishler, Defense Ministry Military Secretary Brig. Gen. Guy Markizano, Head of Research Brig. Gen. Ofir Mizrahi-Rozen, and other senior defense officials.
Following it, Katz said: "I commend our American partners for the safe rescue of the US aircrew. This is another expression of the close cooperation between Israel and the US, even in the most complex moments."
"Yesterday, the IAF struck central sites in Iran’s petrochemical industry and disabled their operations, following the significant damage inflicted on steel factories and other national infrastructure over the past week.
"Over the past two years, the petrochemical industry has generated approximately $18 billion for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps terror group, and it directly serves Iran’s surface-to-surface missile production industry. It is a central pillar of Iran’s economy and of the Iranian terror regime’s ability to function, produce weapons, and advance terrorism and launches against the State of Israel."
Katz stressed, "As we have stated: As long as missile fire continues against Israeli civilians, Iran will pay painful prices that will erode and collapse its national infrastructure and the terror regime’s ability to function."
"At the same time, we will continue to hunt down and thwart the terror leadership and strike security targets and strategic objectives across Iran.
"Israel’s home front is strong and demonstrates great courage and responsibility, and the IDF is strong and will continue to operate with force in Iran until all of the war's objectives are achieved," he concluded.
