Yisrael Ganz, chairman of the Yesha Council and governor of the Binyamin Regional Council, spoke about his meeting with House Representatives regarding Judea and Samaria. The meeting, he said, marked “a historical day” and “one more step” toward the full application of Israeli law over the territory.
Speaking to Arutz Sheva - Israel National News from the United States, Ganz described the hearing in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, led by Congressman Mike Lawler (R-NY), as evidence of growing American recognition that “Israel has all the rights to do whatever we want to do in Judea and Samaria and we have the rights to apply the Israeli law over there.”
“My life mission is to strengthen Judea and Samaria and deepen our roots,” Ganz said. “For me the goal is to apply the Israeli law - what people call sovereignty - over Judea and Samaria.”
Ganz, who has spent the past week meeting senators, congressmen, and staffers on Capitol Hill, stressed the importance of preparing the public for sovereignty when political conditions align.
“We all know what President Trump said and what Vice President JD Vance said about the time of applying sovereignty. They said ‘not now.’ I understand that,” he acknowledged. “I think we have the best administration for the State of Israel here in DC, but we have to prepare a process to apply sovereignty. When the time comes, we’ll be ready to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria.”
He praised the Trump administration’s overall support, noting that Israel is currently able to “build many new towns and approve many more city plans,” and praised the new highs in U.S.-Israel relations.
Ganz also highlighted grassroots Christian support, including how just last Friday he hosted 1,100 American pastors for a visit to Judea and Samaria. The group publicly called on Vice President JD Vance “to change his policy,” declaring: “God’s policy is Judea and Samaria belong to Jews and belong to the State of Israel.”
Many of those same pastors, Ganz said, later approached him in Washington to pledge continued lobbying on Capitol Hill for Israeli sovereignty.
At the same time, he warned of an intense anti-Israel campaign in American media and social media that he believes is led by Qatar.
“There is a huge campaign against the State of Israel, in the media, on social media, and I think the State of Israel must do much more to explain what we are doing,” he said. “Otherwise, we can lose the next generation here in the United States of America. There is a very strong and stable relationship, and we’re working hard to take the next step.”
