Federal prosecutors in Maryland have unsealed an indictment against Arsham Rashidi Dizajgan, 27, of Gainesville, Florida, accusing him of issuing online threats targeting Americans using symbols associated with the Hamas terror organization, JNS reports.

According to the indictment, Dizajgan allegedly posted six threatening messages while living in Maryland between late 2024 and March 2025. The posts, made on TikTok, featured images and videos of US citizens marked with upside-down red triangles - an icon used by Hamas to identify targets - alongside threatening language.

Prosecutors further allege that Dizajgan published content glorifying violence and vilifying Americans and non-Muslims.

“When an individual uses social media to issue violent threats and signals support for a foreign terrorist organization, the FBI will hold that individual accountable,” said Jason Carley, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Jacksonville field office, as quoted by JNS.

“We take these threats seriously and will move quickly to ensure online rhetoric does not turn into real-world harm,” Carley added.

Dizajgan was arrested on Wednesday in Florida. FBI officials credited the swift arrest to coordinated efforts between the Baltimore and Jacksonville field offices and local law enforcement.
