The State Attorney's Office filed two comprehensive indictments at the Nazareth District Court against seven defendants: Rami Abu Sha'akh, a resident of Shefa-'Amr; Amir Salman, Anan Mula and Munir Abu Dahar, residents of Yarka; and three residents of the village of Khadr in Syria.

The defendants are charged with a series of offenses including weapons importation, possession and trade, conspiracy, and exploiting the fighting in southern Syria to smuggle arms into Israel.

According to the indictments, filed the Northern District Attorney's Office, the defendants operated in 2025 within several criminal networks. Investigation findings indicate the network included the smuggling of pistols, M16 and Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition and RPG rounds, with the assistance of residents of the village of Khadr and concealment of some activity as humanitarian aid missions.

The indictment states that Rami Abu Sha'akh contacted one of the Syrian defendants, gave him thousands of dollars and additional equipment, and purchased through him a pistol intended for smuggling into Israel. During a subsequent visit, Abu Sha'akh bought a Kalashnikov rifle, which he smuggled himself and possessed illegally. He later recruited an IDF soldier serving in the sector, who smuggled for him an additional pistol and some 200 rounds of ammunition.

In a separate case, Abu Sha'akh sought to import heavy military weapons into Israel. The Syrian defendant purchased for him two RPG launchers, ten RPG warheads, an M16 rifle, a Kalashnikov rifle and two crates of ammunition - all hidden in his home until a suitable smuggling route was found. The plan was not completed due to the arrests of the suspects.

In another file, defendant Amir Salman conspired with the defendants in Khadr to import six M16 rifles into Israel. For this purpose, an IDF soldier, Amal Aslim, was recruited and entered Syrian territory as part of his service. The weapons were delivered to a meeting point near a Syrian outpost, collected by another soldier - Yazan Salah - using a military truck, and smuggled into Israel. Later Aslim took possession of the shipment and handed it to the defendants from Yarka near a base in the Golan.
