The 'Reservists' party led by Yoaz Hendel announced on Wednesday the launch of its campaign and a membership drive, presenting a platform that calls to revoke voting rights from those who do not serve.
Hendel detailed the party's core principles: forming a Zionist unity government without Arabs and without haredim, an aggressive security approach, passing a universal conscription law, and establishing a state commission of inquiry into the October 7th massacre.
Hendel said, "For me, anyone responsible for October 7 should go home, but I'm not the one to decide. We choose to deal with principles and not with boycotts. There are intelligent people here who behave like fools - they do the same thing over and over and expect a different result."
Hendel addressed the issue of haredi recruitment specifically and warned, "There must be a political force that forces that anyone who chooses not to serve - chooses to be a second-class citizen, will receive nothing from the state, and will not be able to vote or be elected to the Knesset." The remarks were made against the backdrop of a compromise on conscription promoted by Likud MK Boaz Bismuth.
The party decided that only those who have served in military or national service may register and be members. Hendel concluded, "Our mission in the election campaign is to be the swing vote and to force the political system in the correct direction."
