Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived at the White House today (Tuesday) for his meeting with US President Donald Trump.

The meeting comes a day after Trump announced that the US would agree to Saudi Arabia's request to sell the country advanced F-35 stealth fighters.

Speaking to the press, Trump praised bin Salman's record on "human rights" and stated that he is "very proud" of what the crown prince has accomplished.

Trump also defended bin Salman from an ABC reporter's question about the 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, saying that Khashoggi was "extremely controversial" and that the crown prince "knew nothing about it."

Bin Salman responded to the same reporter's question about the role of Saudi terrorists in the September 11 terror attacks by saying that one of the goals of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was to harm the US-Saudi relationship.

Trump also stated that "the Palestinians like me" and are "doing very well." He added that America's actions in the Middle East are making Israel and the Palestinian Arabs "Very happy."

When asked if the F-35s that will be sold to Saudi Arabia will be the same as those used by Israel, Trump responded: "I think they will be pretty similar, yeah."

According to Trump, Saudi Arabia "is a great ally, and Israel is a great ally. I know they'd [Israel] want you to get planes of reduced caliber. I don't think that makes you too happy."

He added that he believes both Israel and Saudi Arabia "are at a level where they should get top-of-the-line" aircraft.

Trump said that "Israel is aware and they're going to be very happy" with the result of the deal to sell F-35s to Saudi Arabia.

Bin Salman stated: "We want to be part of the Abraham Accords, but we want also to be sure that we secure a clear path for the Two State Solution."

Trump also stated that he believes Bin Salman has a "very good feeling" on the Abraham Accords.
